ForgePath Sourcing quotation scope review

ForgePath Sourcing prepares one written request so factories quote similar buildings on the same scope. The quote desk is not atco structures and is not affiliated with atco structures. ForgePath Sourcing does not claim manufacturer status or authorized dealer status while it collects quotations.

A usable quotation names the system, the assumptions and the work left to the buyer. Price without that boundary cannot be compared.

How a comparable request is built

Checklist of building use and jurisdiction fields

Lock the technical basis

Each supplier should receive the occupancy, module dimensions or clear span, eave height, bay spacing, and the design live load, design dead load, wind speed and ground snow load the buyer can already support. If the seismic design category is unknown, the quotation must say so instead of treating a catalog span as approved.

Primary frame, secondary framing, purlin and girt sizes, insulated metal panel or another enclosure, and the foundation interface belong in the narrative. Thermal transmittance and fire-resistance rating are requested as project targets, not as badges copied from another site.

Freight and installation lines separated on a worksheet

Separate the money lines

Ask every factory to split shell supply, delivered equipment, installed work and a turnkey package if one is offered. Foundations, stairs, canopies, electrical and plumbing rough-ins, HVAC, permits and site work are either inside a named line or listed as excluded.

Freight, taxes and duties stay visible. A buyer budget in USD should state per module or whole order. ForgePath Sourcing does not publish a savings figure, because this desk has no paired market quote of its own.

Document set labeled drawings, calculations and certificates

Ask for evidence that matches the quote

Request the manufacturer name, drawings, material specifications, and any certificate or test report the supplier says applies to the quoted system, plant and jurisdiction. IBC, IRC, HUD Code, ASCE 7, AISC 360, AWS D1.1, IAS AC472 and ISO 9001 are prompts for that check. They are not claims that ForgePath Sourcing or an unnamed plant holds them.

Volumetric modules and panelized kits are different construction methods. A quotation should say which one is offered, how the transport envelope is met, and who owns the crane lift plan.

Fictional quote-review illustration, not a completed project, published price or approved design: a buyer asks for the same 80 ft by 30 ft camp-support building under shell and installed scopes. The reviewer records the actual supplier assumptions for primary frame, secondary framing, module dimensions, design live load, design dead load, wind exposure category and the foundation interface. Roof and wall thermal transmittance must identify the quoted assembly and its units. A fire-resistance rating is requested only when the project criteria require it. Any missing freight, crane or foundation work remains an open line for buyer review.

Questions buyers raise before award

Scope

Which requirements must each supplier quote?

Use, geometry, design loads, jurisdiction, quantity, destination, transport limits and the included scope. Missing loads should be labeled as assumptions.

Can two module sizes share one price column?

No. Normalize length, width, height and quantity unit before the numbers are read together.

Commercial lines

Which costs need their own confirmation?

Freight, taxes, duties, foundation, installation, MEP rough-in, permits and optional accessories. Shell and turnkey are not the same total.

Does a matching service choose the factory?

ForgePath Sourcing can organize questions and quotations. Award, code compliance and contract terms stay with the buyer and the professionals the buyer engages.

Open inquiry categories when the product form is still unsettled, then return here to keep the scope matrix stable.

Send one brief to start the comparison

The form collects identity, building criteria and an optional budget. Nothing on this page is a standing price.

  • Same geometry and loads for every factory
  • Scope marked included, excluded or optional
  • Documents tied to the quoted system
  • Destination and timing written in the brief
